A more useful starting point

What does your body need today?

You may already know the familiar advice: sleep more, drink water, move regularly, and make time for yourself. The harder part is deciding what is useful and realistic in your own life.

Decode helps you bring the pieces together: your history, daily demands, body signals, habits, and available energy. You’ll practise describing what you notice, asking better questions, and choosing a proportionate next step.

Perhaps your shoulders tighten during the afternoon, your energy changes after a busy week, or a routine feels harder when you’re rushed. These are starting points for curiosity. You are allowed to gather information before deciding what to change.

The Decode 4-Step Process

A process you can return to.

Use the same questions with a body signal, a difficult day, or a change that feels useful.

  1. Notice

    What do I actually notice?

Describe a sensation, movement, habit, or change without grading yourself or deciding what it means.

  2. Gather context

    What else was happening?

Consider sleep, stress, work, daily demands, your history, and available energy. Look for what tends to travel together.

  3. Choose a small, safe response

    What fits my capacity today?

You might change position, reduce the task, rest, record an observation, or seek appropriate support.

  4. Reassess

    What changed?

Notice what helped, what stayed the same, and what remains unclear. Keep, adapt, pause, or ask for guidance.

You do not have to solve every observation. “I don’t know yet” is a useful place to begin.

Does this sound familiar?

Learning that fits ordinary life.

This course may be a useful fit if you:

  • Spend much of your day sitting, working, parenting, or looking after others.
  • Want to understand how your habits, stress, sleep, and movement seem to connect.
  • Find it difficult to choose a starting point among the many wellness suggestions around you.
  • Would like a gentler way to notice your body and record information for future conversations with your providers.
  • Want small, repeatable practices you can adapt when life gets busy.

Inside the course

From noticing to a practice that fits.

Module 0

Find your starting point

Gather your health history, clarify what matters to you, and establish a baseline through body awareness and gentle movement observations.

Module 1

Recognize your tells

Explore your relationship with your body, build your Body Journal, and practise useful, compassionate self-talk.

Module 2

Make the basics easier

Look at sleep, hydration, daily routines, and the practical systems that help one manageable habit fit into your life.

Module 3

Understand pain, energy, and capacity

Explore pain as information, feedback loops, the nervous system, pacing, and the PAUSE check-in.

Module 4

Use movement as information

Return to body awareness, explore gentle movement, and compare what you notice with your earlier baseline.

Module 5

Choose what actually helps

Use the Cost–Help map and your personal usefulness filter to weigh time, money, effort, and the value an approach provides.

Module 6

Turn patterns into small responses

Organize your observations, become a better historian of your body, and explore one safe, manageable experiment.

Module 7

Build routines for real life

Explore posture and stretching, integrity over intensity, and a personal muster point you can return to when capacity is low.

Module 8

Make the practice your own

Explore upper-body somatic movement, reassess, and select the parts of a practice that fit your needs this week.

Optional

Food and Inflammation

A familiar pathway into wellness, offered gently: eating patterns, produce shopping, and one manageable addition or swap. Nutrition is one part of the wider picture, and completion is optional.

Tools to carry forward

Make the information useful.

A clear lesson path

An introduction and Modules 0–8 connect your starting point with patterns, practical responses, and reassessment.

Workbook & journal activities

Build a personal reference for your history, observations, goals, and the supports you find useful.

Gentle body check-ins

Explore standing awareness, finding a neutral pelvis, and comfortable movement as ways to gather information.

An optional food module

Food and Inflammation offers a gentle introduction to eating patterns, produce shopping, and manageable additions.

Your workbook gradually becomes a living reference: part health history, part observation log, part pattern map, and part practical plan. Use the pages that support you; a useful page can still be incomplete.

Make room for your own pace

Small check-ins. Useful next steps.

The course is designed to unfold over approximately eight to ten weeks through online lessons, workbook activities, and gentle body check-ins.

Read, reflect, try what fits, and return to your observations. During a difficult week, a smaller task may be the most useful task.

You can join at any time and work at your own pace. If online meetups are offered, their topics may be a little ahead of or behind your place in the lessons when you join later.

As the holiday season gets busy, this is an opportunity to notice your capacity and have a few familiar supports ready to return to.

Before you join

A few practical questions.

When does the course begin?

Can I join after November 7?

Does the course replace treatment or medical care?

Decode Your Body is an educational course about awareness and practical self-management. Your existing medical care, rehabilitation plan, and provider instructions take priority. Individual assessment and treatment are separate clinic services.
